INDOOR 5 ASIDE FOOTBALL LEAGUE
LEAGUE RULES 2006-2007

  1. A team shall consist of a goalkeeper and four outfield players with three nominated substitutes.
  2. All players must be over 16 years old.
  3. Play shall consist of two halves of 12 mins 30 secs. With 1 minute rest at half time.
  4. The referee will toss a coin with the two captains to determine ends and who kicks off.
  5. In the occurrence of a colour the first named team will be asked to change.
  6. There shall be NO CANCELLATIONS of any fixture this rule applies to all.
  7. Any team failing to fulfil a fixture shall concede the match to the opposing team, who will receive the 3 points and a score of 5-0.
  8. Outfield players may be substituted when:
    • Dead ball situation i.e. Free kick, centre
    • The referee has given permission
  9. Goalkeepers may only be substituted at half time, or due to an injury
  10. Substitutions are unlimited
  11. A free kick will be awarded if the ball should go over the referee's head. The free kick will take place where the ball was struck.
  12. The ball striking the goalkeeper or crossbar and going above the referee's head height will remain the goalkeeper's possession provided the ball stays in the area. Should the ball pass out of the area a free kick will be awarded where the ball landed
  13. Free kicks shall be taken from the place where the offence occurred. A player of the offending team must retreat 2 metres from the ball. All free kicks are direct
  14. If the ball goes out of play, the restart will be with a kick-in from the nearest point from where the ball left the pitch.
  15. A goal can be scored from any point outside the goal area within the field of play.
  16. No outfield player may enter the in goal area. Should a defending player enter their own box, a penalty kick will be awarded. Should an attacking player enter the opposing team's box, play will restart with the ball in the goalkeeper's possession.
  17. A penalty kick can only be taken from an outfield player. All penalties will be 1 step.
  18. The goalkeeper must return the ball into play by rolling it out of his area with an under arm bowling action. The ball may not be returned straight back to the goalkeeper without touching another outfield player. If this occurs a free kick will be awarded from the place the outfield player returned the ball.
  19. All players must wear correct footwear and MUST WEAR shin pads at all times.
  20. Foul play will be dealt with by the referee who has the power to issue a caution and dismiss players from the pitch. If you receive a yellow card, you shall be sin-binned for 2 minutes. This does not mean you can make a substitute.
  21. Any player sent off will be suspended from playing in the team's next match. Depending on the seriousness of the dismissal, more action may be taken.
  22. A player who performs in a deliberately over zealous and reckless manner, and as a result puts other players at risk may be removed at any time.
  23. If a team has 3 dismissals in any 1 season, they will be expelled from the league. No refund will be given.
  24. Gross misconduct by individuals on or off the pitch will result in their team losing points or taking no further action in the league, depending on the circumstances.
  25. Excessive use of foul language will not be permitted. The offending player/s will be punished.
  26. On all playing matters the referee's decision shall be final. If a player requires clarification of a decision, the team captain may approach the referee in a dignified and sporting manner during half time and or full time.
  27. Of all administrative matters the decision of the league organisers shall be final.
  28. It is the player's responsibility to understand the rules.
  29. The captain of each team is responsible for the discipline and behaviour of his team.
  30. Bath Sports and Leisure Centre reserve the right to alter or amend the competition without prior notice. They disclaim responsibility for acts, omissions or errors outside reasonable control.
  31. Bath Sports and Leisure Centre shall not be held responsible for any injuries or accidents however caused.
